African American Affairs Council

The purpose of this organization is to ensure the nature of business conducted by the African American Affairs Council at Metropolitan State University of 丹佛 shall facilitate unity,  连续性, cohesiveness and address the intellectual, 教育, 社会需求, and interest of the African and African American community on campus, 包括, but not limited to, the following goals:

1. 合作, 沟通, support and information exchange for African American administrators, 教师, and classified personnel.
2. Development of appropriate strategies to assist, 鼓励, and supports the implementation of the urban mission of Metropolitan State University of 丹佛.
3. Maintenance of a registry of members available to serve as advocates and resource- individuals for developing, 规划, and evaluating initiatives, policies and procedures pertinent to African and African Americans.
4. Involvement and representation of African and African Americans in the policy and decision-making process throughout the college.
5. Promotion of 教师 and staff mentorship with students to ensure retention of African and African American students at 密歇根州立大学丹佛.
6. Development of a 沟通 network between AAAC, 密歇根州立大学丹佛, and the metropolitan surrounding community of organizations that support diversity, 股本, and inclusion of African and African American community members’ needs and interest.
7. Address and ensure the appropriate placement of African American personnel – administrators, 教师, and classified staff in accordance with their qualifications.
