MSU Denver offers over 100 Career Ready Programs
- Majors: Also known as Bachelor’s degrees. When studying fulltime, they are typically 4 year programs that end in a degree ready for the workforce. Ask an advisor about how to stay on track to graduate in 4 years.
- Minors and concentrations: Secondary fields of study to add onto a major and require fewer classes then a major.
- Certificates: Credentials that you may achieve with a major or independently that prepares you for a career. Length and requirements vary.

Guaranteed Admission Requirements
- Students who have a cumulative, unweighted high school GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Students age 20 and over with a high school diploma or a GED score of 145 or higher on all four sections.
Reviewed Admission
- All other applicants will be reviewed for admission with an official high school transcript, a personal statement and an optional letter of recommendation.
- What we look at your academic record, courses taken, factors that may have influenced your academic performance and activities you’re involvement in. Please share information you feel is important.

After graduation send final transcripts:
- High school transcript with final completed grades – or – GED records.
- If concurrent or dual enrollment was completed, send college transcript(s) directly from the college the credits were received from.

Affordability
Complete a financial aid application – FAFSA for U.S. citizens and permanent residents (school code- 001360) or CASFA for undocumented students and nonresidents.
Roadrunner Promise may cover your tuition and fees with a combination of federal, state, institutional and scholarship gift aid for eligible students.
Tuition Lock guarantees your tuition will be locked in for four years from the semester you are admitted as a transfer student.
Colorado residents qualify for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend which pays for a portion of the in-state tuition on every course credit you take.
As an MSU Denver student you may be eligible for hundreds of internal and external scholarships.
Some scholarships that may interest you as a first-time student include:
- RaiseMe – Micro-Scholarships that may include up to $1,000 per year
- General MSU Denver Scholarship Application
- Presidents Academic Achievement High School – To qualify, you must have an incoming GPA of 3.25 or better as a first-time student to earn $2,000 per year/$1,000 per term
- Classroom to Career Hub Scholarships – Scholarship programs that are a part of our Classroom to Career Hub (C2 Hub) target different unique groups of students. These programs not only offer financial support but provide community, career, and academic support throughout your time at MSU Denver.
- Pathways to Possible – You may qualify for Pathways to Possible if you are a newly graduated student from a Colorado High School and identify as an underrepresented or low income student.
- Online Learning – If you are planning to study fully online, you may qualify for a $1000 scholarship.

- CMEI: The Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion supports students’ sense of belonging through student organizations.
- Access Center: The Access Center works with students who have disabilities by coordinating accommodations and support services that enable equal access.
- Veteran Military Student Services: MSU Denver’s Military and Student Services assists with the student veteran transition from military to student life.
- Call Center Help Desk: The Call Center Help Desk provides accurate information to students and other constituents of MSU Denver.

- Campus Recreation: Campus Recreation supports the education of the whole person and serves as more than just a place to exercise, it also serves as a venue for education
- Counseling Center: The Counseling Center helps students balance the demands of college life, academic requirements, financial pressures, relationship and life’s other stressors.
- Tivoli Station Bookstore: The Tivoli Station Bookstore provides, books, snacks and swag to all three institutions on the Auraria campus.
- ITS Help Desk: The ITS Help Desk is responsible for the services, infrastructure, and applications that improve the University’s technology services, systems, and standards.
- Campus Police: The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC), runs the Auraria Campus Police, that can be reached at 303-556-5000.
- Commuter Resource/ID Center: The ID Center provides campus IDs for students, as well as the RTD Mobile CollegePasse for students who participate in the RTD Mobile CollegePass program.
Once you are admitted to MSU Denver, these offices will be important to for you:
- Bursar: The Office of the Bursar assists students in accurate billing statements, education on financial rights and responsiblities and many more financial issues students face.
- Orientation: The MSU Denver Office of Orientation helps students experience a smooth transition into college and connects students with appropriate resources.
- Exploratory Advising: If you are unsure of what to study at MSU Denver the Office of Exploratory Advising can assist you in finding the right academic pursuit for you.
- Financial Aid: The Office of Finacial Aid assists students in paying for college in the form of grants, work-study, loans, and scholarships.
- C2 Hub: The Classroom to Career Hub (C2 Hub) supports students begin their career including peer mentoring, resume building and much more.
- On and off-campus housing resources: There are a number of housing options in and around the Denver Metro area. Find the option the best suits your needs.
- Parking: The AHEC parking site is your one-stop-shop to registering your vehicle, purchasing a parking passport or parking permit

Next Steps Checklist
Enrollment and financial aid may be impacted if you do not complete these next steps in a timely manner, so be sure to work through this checklist soon!
Set up your MSU Denver student account
Access your MSU Denver NetID to set up your student email account and the Student Hub, by using the My First Login tool.
You will need your Student ID number, which can be found in your electronic and mailed acceptance letter, or within your Application Status Portal.
Submit Official and Final Transcripts
MSU Denver makes admissions decisions with unofficial and self-reported academic information. When you applied to MSU Denver, you may have uploaded unofficial transcripts to your application account. After admission, official transcripts are required for review and record keeping. Please request your official GED scores or official high school transcript to be sent to our office. Additionally, once your final grades and date of graduation are posted, please request your final official transcript to be sent. Learn more about how to send your transcripts to MSU Denver.
Take or Submit Assessment Exams
Test scores are optional, but if you have transfer credits or ACT/SAT test scores, you may be exempt from an assessment exam in Math and/or English. You may also complete the First Year Writing Self-Directed Placement for enrollment in a First Year Writing course. You should complete any required assessments before Orientation. Learn more about testing requirements.
Register for and attend Orientation
As a new student, you are required to attend an orientation session before you are able to register for classes. Sign up early to secure your spot!
Meet with an academic advisor
You will meet with an academic advisor during your orientation session in order to select classes; however, if you would like additional advising following orientation, you can find your advisor and make an appointment.
Register for classes
You will register for classes during orientation. If you are unable to register at that time, you may register for classes on your Student Hub, which is where you can edit your schedule, too.
Apply for and check your financial aid and scholarships
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by using MSU Denver’s school code 001360. MSU Denver also offers scholarships awards based on academics, achievement and financial need. Undocumented and DACA students should complete the Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA) for state aid. Access your financial aid and scholarship award in your account on your Student Hub. Contact the Office of Financial Aid at [email protected] for any questions.
*Changes are coming to the 2024-25 FAFSA and CASFA called the FAFSA Simplification Act. The 2024-25 application will open in December 2023.
Authorize the COF Stipend
Colorado residents qualify for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend which pays for a portion of the in-state tuition on every course credit you take.
Get Your Books and Student ID
Visit the Tivoli Station Bookstore and purchase books and supplies as well as get your Student ID card.
Pay Your Tuition
Pay tuition and fees via the Student Hub or at the Cashier’s Office located in the Jordan Student Success Building, by 5 p.m. on the Friday before classes begin.
Health Insurance and Immunizations
Health Insurance is a mandatory fee. Those with alternate coverage can waive this fee if you are paying out of pocket.
All students are also required to submit their immunization records. Review the Immunization Requirements.
Selective Service System
In accordance with federal law, all male-assigned at birth students must register for selective service.
